Warranty Policy

Last updated: January 2021

At MK Roofing AUS, your privacy matters to us. We’re committed to keeping your personal information safe and only using it in ways that help us provide the best roofing services possible. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. Purpose and scope

This policy explains how MK Roofing Aus handles workmanship warranties for roofing work. It should be read together with the accepted quotation, invoice, job description and any written warranty issued for the particular job. The warranty period and the specific work covered are those confirmed in the applicable quote, invoice or separate written warranty.

2. Workmanship and installation warranty

Where an issue is confirmed to be covered by the written workmanship warranty, MK Roofing AUS will arrange the covered remedial labour and installation at no additional labour or installation charge to the customer, subject to the scope and conditions of that warranty and applicable law.

The warranty applies only to the work and areas expressly covered by the relevant job documents. It is not a guarantee that every roof leak or water-ingress issue at the property is covered, particularly where the cause is outside the original scope of work.

3. Additional materials and work outside the original scope

A roof inspection may identify a separate or previously unrecognised issue that requires additional materials or work beyond the original quotation—for example, additional flashing needed because of a low roof pitch, water overflow, existing roof design, deterioration, or another condition not included in the original repair.

Where the proposed work is genuinely additional and is not required to remedy a defect covered by the existing warranty, MK Roofing AUS may ask the customer to pay for the additional materials and any other separately quoted items. If MK Roofing AUS agrees to provide the additional labour and installation free of charge, that arrangement will be confirmed in writing before the work proceeds.

Important: Additional material charges are not automatic. MK Roofing AUS will explain why the materials are needed, provide a written price or quote, and obtain the customer’s approval before carrying out chargeable additional work. A charge will not be imposed merely by labelling a covered warranty repair as additional work.

4. Customer approval before additional work

MK Roofing Aus will describe the issue found and the proposed solution as clearly as reasonably possible.

Where practicable, photographs or other inspection findings will be provided to explain the recommended work.

Any additional material cost, labour charge (if applicable), and other charges will be set out in a written quote or variation.

The customer must approve the additional work and price in writing before chargeable work begins, except where a different arrangement is permitted by law and agreed with the customer.

If the customer does not approve the additional work, MK Roofing AUS will explain any practical limitations or risks of leaving the issue unresolved.

5. Matters that may not be covered by a workmanship warranty

Subject to applicable law and the specific written warranty, coverage may not extend to issues caused by conditions outside the original scope, including pre-existing roof design or pitch limitations; blocked gutters or downpipes; lack of maintenance; storm, impact or other external damage; movement or structural issues; work performed or altered by others; or deterioration of components not supplied or installed as part of the warranted work. These examples do not determine coverage by themselves: the cause of the problem and the applicable warranty terms must be assessed.

6. How to request warranty assistance

Contact MK Roofing Aus using the phone number or email below as soon as a concern is noticed.

Provide the job address, invoice or quote number (if available), a description of the issue, and photos or videos where possible.

Allow reasonable access for inspection and assessment.

Do not arrange third-party repairs to the affected area before MK Roofing AUS has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect, unless urgent action is reasonably necessary to protect people or property. Keep records and receipts for any urgent work.

7. Australian Consumer Law and statutory rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. If a customer is entitled to a remedy under applicable law, this policy does not remove that entitlement. Whether a particular repair or material charge is payable depends on the facts, the agreed scope, the written warranty and applicable law.

Customer acknowledgement (optional)

I acknowledge that I have received and had the opportunity to read this warranty policy. I understand that any additional work and chargeable materials outside the original scope will be explained and quoted for approval before the work proceeds, and that statutory rights remain unaffected.
